LIGNA 2025 Celebrates 50 Years of LIGNA.

AKE is once again part of the LIGNA community as a long-standing partner

The LIGNA trade fair has been held in Hanover for 50 years and will once again serve as the world’s leading trade fair for the wood and furniture industries in the anniversary year 2025, acting as a key indicator of current developments and trends in the sector. Since its inception, AKE Knebel has been part of the trade fair community and will showcase current product developments at two key booths.

In Hall 12, Booth D77, the focus will be on tool highlights for the wood and furniture industry.
Featured will be high-performance saw blades, cutters, drills, and clamping systems—for top results, greater efficiency, reduced reworking, and lower costs. Particularly durable diamond tools ensure tear-free results and the highest service life. Significant development steps have also been made in tool digitalisation as part of Industry 4.0, which will be presented at the fair.

Highlights at this LIGNA include:

  • NEW: The next generation of diamond compact cutters
Optimised for the kitchen industry, this new development is specially designed to meet the high demands of processing coated particle boards. It delivers outstanding performance with particularly abrasive materials, such as HPL- and melamine-coated panels or special laminates. Its design allows for higher feed rates. With its chip guiding function, which directs chips away from the material into the extraction system, it keeps modern panel processing and edge banding machines clean, significantly reduces double cutting wear, and avoids contamination of workpieces.
  • Boardline panel sizing programme
The current saw blade product range for industrial cutting on panel sizing machines with mechanical feed. Panel materials such as coated and uncoated wood-based materials, HPL, or multiplex can be cut with excellent quality and in large volumes. All types can be resharpened up to 17 times. The 0324 BoardlinePro+ is a special version with particularly hard carbide teeth for single and pack cuts in abrasive panel materials. With “AKE.id”—a code marking specially protected against abrasion—clear identification and integration with Industry 4.0 systems is also possible.
  • DP cutter programme for HPL panel
Materials Straight-cut DP shank cutters, DP profile tools, DP drills, and DP countersinks were developed for cutting very dense materials such as HPL/compact laminate, mineral materials, or cement- and gypsum-bonded substrates. The HPL programme includes over 70 new tools.
  • DP shank type cutters 2.0 with optimised chip removal
The diamond shank cutter series with particularly stable solid carbide bodies for excellent running smoothness and increased resistance. All 2.0 shank cutters are available in the optimised version with fundamentally improved chip removal from the cutting edge. This significantly reduces wear caused by multiple cutting and ensures a long tool life.
  • DP shank cutters “blackline”
Available in Z1 and Z2 versions with optimised chip spaces and improved body design for high durability in demanding applications.
  • DP nesting shank cutters
This high-performance separation cutter for nesting applications is particularly suitable for MDF and multiplex, and for formatting particle boards with or without coating.
  • Tools for Lamello P-System
Solid carbide and DP disc grooving cutters for special cut-outs of detachable furniture connectors for the Clamex® system. The DP disc grooving cutters stand out for their particularly long service life. The solid carbide cutter is also designed for durability thanks to its PLT coating.
  • HP collet chuck, dustproof version
  • The current blueline product programme
The complete range with over 3,200 items for professionals and demanding DIYers, including over 700 circular saw blades—for example, for rip cuts with flat tooth geometry and construction saw blades with ventilation elements—as well as many other practical additions.

In Hall 25, Booth G45, current tools for sawmills and planing mills will be presented.

In the raw wood industry, AKE focuses on customised system solutions precisely tailored to the industrial high-performance requirements of sawmills and planing mills. Custom solutions are often the standard in this field of application.
  • NEW: Body-coated trim saws for efficient secondary cutting
Chromium-coated trim saws will be presented for use in secondary cuts mounted on a hub. The chrome coating reduces resin build-up and friction wear on the saw blades. This lowers tool costs, increases service life, and simplifies cleaning.
  • NEW: Solid wood rebate cutter for edge processing in dry machining
This rebate cutter enables optimal edge processing and a smooth surface finish. With its special arrangement of replaceable knives in a double-spiral along the circumference and side-mounted triangular scoring cutters, the tool is suitable for both clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation.
  • NEW: Pre-cutting saw with toothed flange
This add-on for raw wood saws specifically protects the body of the pre-cutting saw with a toothed flange so that oversized side material cannot damage the hub area. This reduces tool wear and unplanned maintenance work.
  • NEW: Weight-reduced steel templates
These are dimensionally stable and impact-resistant, keeping the inserted circular saw blades in position even under heavy load. The new weight-reduced design simplifies handling during tool changes.
  • Grooving cutters combined with multiple-blade saws for trimming machines
These can be used on single- or double-shaft systems and mounted with multiple-blade saws on a fixed hub. This eliminates the need for a separate grooving step. The grooving cutters can be individually tailored to specific requirements.
