LIGNA 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of LIGNA.

AKE, a long-standing partner, is once again part of the LIGNA community

For 50 years, the LIGNA trade fair in Hanover has been held as the world’s leading exhibition for the wood and furniture industry. In its anniversary year 2025, it continues to be a key indicator of current developments and trends within the sector. Since the very beginning, AKE Knebel has been part of the exhibition community and will be presenting its latest product developments at two dedicated stands.

In Hall 12, Stand D77, the focus will be on tool highlights for the wood and furniture industry.
Visitors can expect the latest high-performance circular saw blades, milling tools, drill bits and clamping systems – delivering first-class results, increased efficiency, reduced rework and lower costs. Particularly durable diamond tools ensure tear-free results and exceptionally long tool life.
Significant progress has also been made in the field of tool digitalisation within the framework of Industry 4.0, which will be showcased at the exhibition.

Highlights of LIGNA 2025:

  • NEW: The next generation of diamond compact chippers

Optimised for the kitchen industry, this new development is specifically designed to meet the high demands of processing coated chipboard. It delivers outstanding performance, particularly with highly abrasive materials such as HPL and melamine-coated panels or specialised surface films. Its design also allows for higher feed rates.
Thanks to its chip-guiding function, which directs chips away from the material into the extraction system, this chipper keeps modern sizing and edge-banding machines clean, significantly reduces wear caused by double chipping and prevents contamination of workpieces.
  • “Boardline” panel programme
The current sawing product range for industrial cutting on panel sizing machines with mechanical feed. Panel materials such as coated and uncoated wood-based materials, HPL and multiplex can be processed in large volumes with excellent cutting quality. All types can be resharpened up to 17 times.
The Type 0324 BoardlinePro+ is a specialised version featuring particularly hard carbide teeth for single and stack cutting in abrasive panel materials. With “AKE.id” – a code marking specially protected against wear – clear identification and integration into Industry 4.0 systems is also possible.
  • DP milling programme for HPL panel materials
For machining very dense materials such as HPL/solid grade laminate, mineral materials, and cement- or gypsum-bonded materials, a range of tools has been developed, including straight-edged DP shank cutters, DP profile tools, DP drill bits and DP countersinks. The HPL programme includes over 70 new tools.
  • DP shank cutters 2.0 with optimised chip removal
This diamond shank cutter series features particularly stable solid carbide bodies for excellent smooth running and increased durability. All 2.0 shank cutters are available in an optimised version with significantly improved chip evacuation from the cutting edge. This greatly reduces wear caused by multiple cutting processes and ensures a long tool life.
  • DP shank cutters “blackline”
Available in Z1 and Z2 versions, featuring optimised chip spaces and an improved base body design for high resistance in demanding applications.
  • DP Nesting Shank Cutters
This high-performance trimming cutter for nesting applications is particularly suitable for MDF and multiplex, as well as for sizing chipboard, both coated and uncoated.
  • Tools for the Lamello P-System
Solid carbide (VHW) shank cutters and DP disc cutters for specialised recesses for detachable furniture connectors used in the Clamex® system. The DP disc cutters are characterised by exceptionally long tool life. The solid carbide cutters are also designed for durability thanks to their PLT coating.
  • HP Collet Chuck, dustproof version
This high-precision collet chuck for use in CNC machining centres is now also available with a specially designed dustproof nut. The existing standard HP collet chuck can be easily retrofitted to the dustproof version. Advantages of the dustproof version: No contamination of the collet, easy clamping and release, no imbalance caused by dirt. Particularly suitable for environments with high levels of fine dust, such as when machining MDF, gypsum- or cement-bonded materials, and fibre-reinforced materials.
  • The current blueline/CMT product range
A complete range with over 3,200 items for tradespeople and demanding DIY users, including more than 700 circular saw blades – for example for rip cuts with flat tooth geometry and construction-site saw blades with ventilation elements – as well as many other practical additions.

In Hall 25, Stand G45, the focus will be on the latest tools for sawmills and planing mills.

In the solid wood industry, AKE relies on customised system solutions precisely tailored to the high-performance industrial requirements of sawmills and planing operations. In this field, special solutions are often the standard.
  • NEW: Base body-coated trimming saws for efficient resawing
Chrome-coated trimming saws mounted on a sleeve will be presented for resawing applications. The chrome coating reduces resin build-up and minimises friction on the saw blades. This lowers tool costs, increases tool life and makes cleaning easier.
  • NEW: Solid wood rebate cutters for edge processing in dry machining
These rebate cutters enable optimal edge processing and a smooth workpiece surface. Thanks to the special arrangement of interchangeable knives with a double helix around the circumference and laterally positioned triangular scoring cutters, the tool is suitable for both clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation.
  • NEW: Scoring saw with toothed flange
This enhancement for solid wood saws protects the base body of the scoring saw with a toothed flange, preventing oversized side material from damaging the clamping area. This reduces tool wear and helps avoid unplanned maintenance.
  • NEW: Weight-reduced steel spacers
These dimensionally stable and impact-resistant spacers ensure that circular saw blades remain securely in position even under high loads. The new lightweight design makes handling during tool changes easier
  • Grooving cutters in combination with multi-blade saws for resawing machines
These can be used on single- or double-shaft machines and installed in combination with multi-blade saws on a fixed sleeve. This eliminates the need for a separate grooving operation. The grooving cutters can be individually designed to meet specific requirements.
