CHALLENGES FOR THE TOOL QUALITY CRITERIA

• plastic material is extremely sensitive to heat Finish Cut
and therefore tends to cement • hardly any re-machining necessary
• the individual plastic boards are usually
very thin Cutting edge without thermal stress
• the material is extremely difficult to cut and • heat must be dissipated via the chip
very abrasive • no bonding
• finish-cut quality No splintering on edges
• no splintering at the tool exit
• saw blade design
• machine equipment important for good results

Saws with minimum quantity lubrication
• better cutting quality
